Using exceptional customer service, work with doctor in maintaining good hand-off from exam room to optical. Guide patient through selecting frames and choosing appropriate lenses based on doctor's recommendations and patient needs. Understand how patient's particular vision plan contributes to their eyewear purchase. Dispense eyewear and make repairs as needed. Maintain good relationship with lab concerning warranties, redos and general procedures. Be able to troubleshoot any patient concerns regarding their eyewear purchase. Invoice patient's exam and purchase of either glasses and/or contact lenses. Submit eyeglass and contact lens orders through appropriate labs/distributors. Help manage inventory and maintain frame boards.
Welcome patients and lead them through the check-in process. Help to create a good patient flow throughout their visit at the office. Answer phone calls and field questions from patients/vendors. Be able to look up and answer questions about various vision and health plans as they relate to a patient's visit to the clinic. Work with other staff as a team player, stepping up where needed.
