B.I.N.G. Lunch ‘n’ Learn

Thursdays at noon

318 Fifth St., West Des Moines

www.businessincubatornetworkinggroup.com

B.I.N.G. Lunch ‘n’ Learn is a weekly lunch and learn business networking group in Des Moines dedicated to helping small business owners start and grow by sharing knowledge, resources and leads. We designed it as a lunch and learn, as well as a lead networking group, because nothing helps incubate a business like a referral. Anybody who’s been able to stay in business knows this truth. So, during the weekly meeting, you can expect to briefly share your business idea or give your current venture’s elevator speech. Bring plenty of business cards to pass around and give attendees a reason to refer you to qualified business prospects. Sometimes it’s hard to work ON the business when you’re so focused on working IN the business.  So, when you’re sharing your business idea or giving your current venture’s elevator speech, feel free to pose your business’ challenges. The rest of the group will be excited to pitch in and assist with their hard-earned experiences with similar issues. Two heads are better than one. In addition to each attendee sharing equally, one participant or guest speaker will hold the floor for a timed presentation to provide either further insight into their business and/or further insight into your business. After the meeting, feel free to make use of the West Des Moines Business Incubator’s free WIFI and open coworking space to continue the relationships garnered during the meeting time.

Cybersecurity is a must for any business with a presence online. Whether you have a website, online accounts or any type of web-based infrastructure, you are at risk for a cyberattack. Although the public typically only hears about cyberattacks against high-profile companies, banks and government websites, small businesses make prime targets for cybercriminals, competitors and disgruntled parties. A panel will discuss how you can take proactive measures to avoid a cyberattack. Panelists include, Jeff Jones, business developer for Spinutech; Corey Skadburg, director of credit and risk at TMG Financial Services; and Carol Quillen, vice president of risk management at Affiliates Management Company (AMC). Breakfast is included in your registration. Register at www.wdmchamber.org.
